Everyone
The Timer page answers to a handful of shortcuts. They use ⌘ ⇧ on a Mac and Ctrl Shift on Windows and Linux.
| Shortcut | Does |
|---|---|
| ⌘ ⇧ S | Start the timer, or stop it if it is running |
| ⌘ ⇧ D | Focus the description field |
| ⌘ ⇧ M | Switch between Timer and Manual mode |
| ⌘ ⇧ P | Open the project picker |
| ⌘ ⇧ G | Open the tags picker |
| ⌘ ⇧ J | AI fill from the description |
| N | Jump to the entry bar (when you are not typing in a field) |
| Enter | In Manual mode, add the entry; in a picker, choose the highlighted item |
| Esc | Close a picker |
Inside the description field, @ opens the project and task picker and # suggests tags; Tab or Enter takes the first match.
Showing the hints
The keyboard icon at the bottom of the sidebar (Show keyboard shortcuts / Hide keyboard shortcuts) toggles small hints next to the buttons that have a shortcut, so you can learn them in place. Shortcuts work either way.
Desktop app
Quanta Desktop adds a system-wide shortcut, ⌘ ⇧ Space on Mac and Ctrl Shift Space on Windows, that summons the timer window and toggles the timer from inside any application. See Desktop app.
